ksl.com - 1 killed, 4 injured in Salt Lake City shootings

Dear Politicians and Public School District Leaders,

Please help deter the spread of gangs and drugs in public schools. Please implement and encourage all programs available which are widely accepted. The Utah News Media should do an investigative story on how little if anything is being done to discourage gangs in public schools STATEWIDE in UTAH.

I have lived in Utah since 1976, I enjoy most of what I have availabe in Utah. What I see with crime and gang related crime trends is discouraging!

As an outsider looking in, from what I see, little if anything has been implemented. The time and resources devoted by Utah Public Schools has not been noteworthy. There are tremendous programs like G.R.E.A.T. and D.A.R.E. and they need to be promoted and others mandated.

Doing Nothing to Deter the gang and drug problem in public schools is not acceptable to the children in public schools and the extended community.

Find me a neighborhood without the harm of gangs and drugs, and I will point out the low key issues in it!

Property Crime, Home invasions, car jackings, car thefts, burglaries of pharmacies and homes, is an unacceptable trend. Most old families who have lived in Utah will look back a few years and remember when the home invasions and pharmacy robberies and violent crime were not as prolific.

Support Law Enforcement. Support Public Policy which improves the quality of our State.

Independent Non Paid Volunteer and Researcher since 2005. Ongoing gang and graffiti study!
